Nicola Pithers
B.App.Sc. (Ex Phys), AEP, AES, ESSAM

Owner and Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Nicola is passionate about exercise across the lifespan and keeping active into older age. She also has a keen interest in women’s health and pregnancy, cancer care as well as injury rehabilitation.

Nicola is currently completing a Masters of Exercise Medicine (Oncology)! Alongside her Exercise Physiology Accreditation, Nicola holds a full studio pilates certification and has undertaken specific training in pre and post natal exercise.

She has been NSW and Australian representative in aerobic gymnastics. She is passionate about sport, athletic development and is still heavily involved in the gymnastic community.

Megan McCarthy
B.App.Sc. (Ex Phys), AEP, AES, ESSAM
Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Megan is passionate about exercise and healthy living for people of all ages. Megan aims to enable people of all abilities to participate in safe and individualised physical activity.

Megan’s particular interests include promoting active living for older adults, injury rehabilitation and using exercise as treatment for chronic diseases such as arthritis and osteoporosis.

Megan is an avid sports lover and has always enjoyed playing sports, training and living an active life.

James Karagiannis
Accredited Exercise Physiologist, James is enthusiasic about exercise prescription for everyone regardless of age, gender or experience. Passionate about development of fundamental movement skills in adolescents as well as improving movement quality in adults throughout their lives.

James is currently also studying his Masters of Physiotherapy, which will give him a more through understanding of both acute and chronic health conditions to assist in rehabilitation and ensure a return to daily activity and achieving personal goals.

James has represented his surf lifesaving club at state, national & international levels and will apply his dedication to training to ensuring optimal client outcomes.

Maree Cassimatis
B.App.Sc. (Ex Phys), AEP, AES, ESSAM
Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Maree is enthusiastic about encouraging active lifestyles, no matter what your age or exercise experience. She is dedicated about providing client-centred care that empowers individuals within their daily life.

Maree’s interests consist of working with older adults, enhancing athlete health and wellbeing, as well as, improving the quality of life for those living with chronic health conditions.

Maree is currently completing a Master’s degree in Research at the University of Sydney, specifically looking at the effects of concussion in children and adolescents. She is working with the Children’s Hospital Institute of Sports Medicine to carry out her research.

Cameron Lane
Cam is an Exercise Physiologist with a passion for movement as medicine throughout the lifespan. He has a particular interest in cardiac rehabilitation as well as musculoskeletal injuries.

Alongside his work at The Active Studio, Cam has experience as a case manager within workers compensation and currently works in a Mental Health Unit team.

In his spare time, you will find Cam practising JiuJitsu, training for his Brown belt or playing with his dog.

Tess Carruthers
Tess is an Exercise Scientist, currently studying a Masters of Exercise Physiology. Her passion for exercise and health across the lifespan, enables her to help individuals make small changes and utilise new tactics to enhance their lifestyles and physical activity.

Through her Master’s degree, Tess is furthering her knowledge in how exercise helps to treat conditions of the brain and nervous system and how anyone regardless of age or experience can get active.

Outside of The Active Studio, you will find Tess on the netball court, going for long walks or doing anything outdoors.
